Client Application — 2026 Cohort

We do not take
every client
who calls.

Shurek Wealth Protection accepts a limited number of new client relationships each year. The people we work with are not looking for a tax preparer. They are looking for a team that thinks about their wealth the way they do — strategically, proactively, and with full accountability for the outcome.

This is not a consultation request.

Most advisory firms offer a free consultation — which is really a sales call disguised as advice. We do not do that. What we offer is a structured intake conversation where we genuinely assess whether we are the right fit for your situation, and where you assess whether we are the right team for what you are trying to accomplish.

If the fit is right, we will invite you to a working session — not a pitch. We come prepared with an initial assessment of your situation and our thinking on what should be addressed first.

What we are looking for.

We work best with business owners, physicians, attorneys, real estate investors, and high-income professionals who are generating significant wealth and feel like their tax and estate planning has not kept pace. People who are done being reactive and want a team that is thinking ahead.

We are not the right fit for simple situations. We are built for complexity — multiple entities, significant income, estates that require active management, exits that need to be planned years in advance.

How It Works
From application to engagement — four steps.
01

Submit this application

Tell us about your situation — your income structure, your entities, your goals, and what is not working about your current setup. Be specific. The more you share, the better we can assess fit. We review every application personally — nothing goes to a junior associate.

Takes about 10 minutes

We review your application within 72 hours

Our managing partner reviews every application. We are looking for situations we can meaningfully impact — complexity we can navigate, tax exposure we can reduce, plans that should have been built years ago. If we believe we are the right team, you will receive a direct call from our office to schedule a working intake session. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you honestly and point you in the right direction.

72-hour response commitment
03

The intake session — we come prepared, you come candid

This is a 60- to 90-minute working session. We will have reviewed your application and done preliminary research on your situation. We come with observations and initial thinking. You bring your current returns, entity documents, and any existing planning you have in place. We have a real conversation — not a presentation, not a sales pitch. By the end, both parties know whether to move forward.

60–90 minutes, in person or video
04

Engagement — structured, accountable, ongoing

If we move forward, we design an engagement structure matched to your situation — a specific package of strategies, an implementation timeline, and a monthly advisory relationship that keeps everything coordinated. You will have a direct line to our team, not a phone tree. We track every open item, every deadline, and every filing. Your plan is never set and forgotten.

Ongoing — never transactional
Honest Self-Selection
We are probably not the right fit if...
You are primarily looking for the lowest price on tax preparation
Your situation is straightforward — W-2 income, simple entity, no major planning needs
You want to be told yes to everything rather than told what is actually right
You are not willing to share financial information openly and in detail
You are looking for a single transaction rather than an ongoing relationship
You have no interest in implementing a plan — only in discussing one

We say this not to be exclusive for exclusivity's sake — but because we take a limited number of clients and we want to spend that capacity on relationships where we can create genuine, measurable, long-term value. Being honest about fit upfront saves time for everyone.

Why Monthly — Not One-Time
What the ongoing relationship is actually worth
Every package includes a monthly advisory fee. This is not a retainer for access — it is a fee for a specific set of ongoing activities that cannot be done once and forgotten. Here is what happens every month and every year that makes the relationship valuable.
📅
Deadline Management
The defined benefit plan penalty is $250/day. The CRT filing has no extension. The 83(b) has 30 days. The Crummey notices must go out within days of each premium. The gifting deadline is December 31, every year. We track every one of these — across every strategy you have in place — and nothing falls through the cracks.
Real-Time Decision Support
You are about to sell a property. You received a restricted stock grant. An M&A firm called. A large distribution is coming. Each of these events has tax implications that must be addressed before, not after. An ongoing relationship means you call us first — not three months later when the decision is already made and the opportunity is gone.
🔄
Annual Strategy Coordination
Your strategies do not exist in isolation. The FLP gifts coordinate with the dynasty trust. The cost segregation interacts with the REP election. The defined benefit plan timing coordinates with your S corp distributions. Annual coordination keeps everything aligned and prevents one strategy from accidentally undermining another.
📊
Proactive Tax Modeling
Every Q4, we model your projected tax liability before year-end and identify what can still be done. Every Q1, we review the prior year and identify anything that should change. This is not reactive — it is a continuous planning cycle that keeps your tax position optimized rather than discovered after the fact.
🛡️
Examination Readiness
An IRS examination of any strategy in your plan — REP election time logs, FLP appraisals, Crummey notices, QSBS documentation — requires contemporaneous records maintained over years. We maintain those records from day one. Clients who switch to us after an examination rarely have the documentation they needed. Our clients always do.
📈
Compounding Value Over Time
Year one: strategies designed and implemented. Year two: first full cycle of compliance, gifting, and deadlines managed. Year three: the FLP gifts have moved $1M+ of estate value. Year five: the GRAT term completes and the remainder passes to heirs tax-free. Year ten: the dynasty trust has grown significantly outside any estate. The value of the relationship compounds exactly like the strategies themselves.
2026 Client Application
Tell us about your situation.
We review every application personally. Be specific — generalities make it hard for us to assess whether we can create real value for you. There are no wrong answers, and nothing you share here is used for any purpose other than evaluating fit.
